Miss Tatiana

My name is Tatiana and I was born and raised in El Salvador. When I was 18 years old, I moved to Nutley, NJ where I lived with my parents and siblings until I married my wonderful husband nine years ago. Together, we are the proud parents of three beautiful, smart girls, Lissette age 8, Elena age 6, and AnaMaria our nine-month-old.

My journey as a teacher began in the summer 2004 when I served as a volunteer in a summer camp helping underprivileged children ages 7-13. It was then I found my calling to become a teacher and serve my community to impact the life of young children. I studied at Essex Community College and completed my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I then went on to complete my Bachelor degree in Spanish and Psychology at Montclair State University. While I was completing my degrees, I worked at a local nonprofit daycare where I worked my way up from an assistant teacher to become an Assistant Director. After that, I was a Second Grade Teacher at a private school in Kearny. I have also taught English as a Second Language to adult learners in Dover, NJ.

This is my first-year teaching Kindergarten at Bridges to Learning and I am super excited about this opportunity. The best part about teaching is that no matter what the age of the student, their face is always full of pride when they learn something new. I am looking forward to seeing more of this expression as we have a bright and rewarding school year.
